Working Behind the Scenes
I wish I could say a lot more than “we’ve been busy” but it’s the truth! Whether it’s improving the design of the game, nailing down more cost-effective manufacturing, or looking for publishers for our game, there is a ton of work that, frankly isn’t terribly interesting to give updates on. (if you know someone looking to publish or invest in an educational civics game, hit us up!) However, there are some things that I believe are worth writing about. The progress we’re making behind the scenes has me excited and hopefully, I can convey that excitement to you too! So finally, after a rather salacious article the game designer for The Process finally breaks his silence! (For the most part)
Speaking Up About the Process
You might already be aware of this if you’re following our social media (If you aren’t you should probably do that). Last week, as of writing this, we went on a trip to Colombia to attend the Voices and Votes workshop thanks to the Missouri Humanities Council. We saw a few presentations on recording oral history, marketing, and social media for historians and educators, and got to talk to people doing important work to preserve and share history.
Are You Excited Yet?
We got to present our during lunch and I was so encouraged by the enthusiasm our game received! From people who were simply interested in recording their local stories and history to seasoned professionals working on state and national education projects, there were a lot of people here who were passionate about spreading knowledge.
We even got to talk to some people from the different state Humanities Councils and even someone who worked for the Smithsonian (This is the part where I should probably say less for now)! We got some numbers, links, and a reminder that we should have business cards for events like this. All in all, a great start to a weekend that gave a great sneak peek into what we might be able to achieve with support from people like you.
I’m looking forward to what we have in store moving forward. Aside from our creative director making us eat bugs for social media 😣. (We’re almost at 300 followers on Instagram so my time may be coming soon 😔)
P.S:
Thanks again for reading this little blog. And I hope you’ll pay attention to this site in the coming weeks. The card game might still be a little ways off from printing, but I’m cooking something up on the website in the meantime
